Last night, more than 40 volunteer team leaders from across the state attended a dinner in Framingham, hosted by Mike Firestone, the field director, as a thank you for all their hard work so far.
Mike also introduced the volunteers to Amanda Coulombe, the get out the vote director (GOTV). Amanda talked about the short window between now and the election and the work still left to do. She laid out the plan for Knock Out weekend, where the campaign expects to have 2,000 volunteers knocking on 60,000 doors.
Massachusetts Democratic Party Chairman John Walsh also attended the dinner after canvassing in New Bedford with Governor Patrick. Walsh told the crowd, “You are the antidote to everything people hate about politics. You are proving that small dollars beat big dollars, and as Tip O’Neill taught us, people like to be asked.”
